Celeborn and Galadriel

This is Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel of Lothlorien. Centerpieces of my Woodland Realms (Lothlorien) Army.

Female Elven Captain on Horse

This is a miniature of Arwen on Asfaloth. I am going to use her as an Elven Captain for my "Autumn/Fire" themed High Elf Army.

Armegil of Nan Giliath (High Elf Captain)

This is one of my converted High Elven Cavalry. I currently use him as Armegil of Nan Giliath, my Avatar (High Elf Captain on Horse) in Tournaments. I have converted 12 of these. I am really looking forward to the release of the new High Elf Sourcebook, so I can field Elven Knights again in Tournaments!

Erenion Gil-Galad and the Army of Lindon.

This is Gil-Galad and the Army of Lindon. Lindon was the longest-standing Eldarin Kingdom in Middle Earth, and the mightiest throughout the Second Age. At its height, it was ruled by Erenion Gil-galad, High King of the Noldor, and was the strongest enemy of Sauron in Middle Earth during the Second Age. The realm endured through the Third Age, though diminished after the death of Gil-Galad in the War of the Last Alliance. Lindon was the site of the Grey Havens, where the Elves, as well as the Ring-bearers, sailed into the west to the Undying Lands.

This is the army I took to the 1st Independant LOTR Grand Tournament on July 5th - 6th 2008 in Glendale AZ. The Army won Best Appearance at the event. I also placed 4th in the Tournament. I missed 3rd place General by just 3 points, and 3rd Overall, by just 5.8 points. Really tough competition! All in all a good showing for The Scion of Kings (which is what Erenion means in Elven.)

Here are the results from the 2008 Gathering in the Desert LOTR GT:

Erenion Gil-Galad and Elrond Half-Elven

This is Gil-Galad and Elrond, the center pieces of the Army of Lindon.

The Army of Lindon.

This is a portion of the High Elf Army of Lindon. This has been an on-going project for me since the LOTR SBG first came out in 2001. You will probably never see the full army on the tabletop (unless the rumored LOTR Mass Battle system ala Apocolypse turns out to be true).

Elven Heroines

This is a Female Elven Captain and Arwen Undómiel (or Arwen Evenstar in the tongue of men).

Glorfindel and Elnaith

This is Glorfindel leading a retinue of Elnaith (High Elven Cavalry).

Glorfindel on Asfaloth

Glorfindel on Asfaloth. A High Elf Lord. And one of my favorite miniatures.

Companies of the Army of Lindon

A detail of the Spear and Elven Blade Companies of the Army of Lindon.

Elven Captain and Retainers

An Elven Captain and his Retainers take their place on the field of battle.

High Elven Company

This is the 250 pt High Elven Company that I used at the LOTR Campaign Day at Imperial Outpost Games in Glendale, Arizona on 11 Feb 2007.

The Company consists of a High Elven Captain (Hvy Armor, Shield, Elven Blade), 10 High Elven Spearmen (Hvy Armor, Shield, Spear), and 5 High Elven Bowmen (Hvy Armor, Elven Bow, Elven Blade). The Bowmen are positioned to the side of the formation. This allows them freedom to manuever for the best line-of-sight for shooting early in the battle, and to engage the enemy with Elven Blades without disrupting the spearmens formation.

The Company had 2 Major Victories (MEETING ENGAGEMENT and TAKE AND HOLD) and 1 Major Defeat (ILL-MET BY MOONLIGHT). This Company also won the "Best Painted" award at the Tournament.
